Sequencher® importer available in Geneious Pro 5.0

Geneious Pro 5.0 beta features an importer for the common assembly format (CAF), which allows you to import previously assembled contigs from Sequencher. You will need an active copy of Sequencher to export your existing contigs as CAF. To do this, open your contig in Sequencher (you can load as many contigs as you have all at once), go up to the FILE menu and select EXPORT-->CONTIG. The new window will default to CAF, so simply click the Export button. The resulting documents will be 1 CAF file and many SCF files that contain the chromatograms of each fragment in your assembled contig. You will need all of the files to import the contig with chromatograms into Geneious Pro. Select all of the files at once (CAF and SCF together) and drag and drop them into Geneious Pro. Congratulations, you've rescued your old Sequencher contig assemblies!
