Database Search in Geneious Pro™
Keeping abreast with newly published articles and data is a key part of day-to-day scientific research. Geneious Pro™ allows you to rapidly search all the key databases at NCBI for literature, DNA and protein sequence information and set up automated Agents and Smart Agents™ that do the searching for you.
Searching in Geneious Pro
Literature search – Search Pubmed by author, title or abstract content and have the references saved directly into a local folder in your copy of Geneious Pro. Try non-exact keywords to test the full power of searching with Geneious Pro.
Local search and filtering – Search downloaded content by any metadata field or use the dynamic filter box to fine-tune your search results to rapidly find the documents you're after.
Text-based search – Search for sequences based on any of the available meta-data fields, Accession ID, organism name, taxonomy or anything else. Create boolean searches to enhance the specificity of your searches.
BLAST search – BLAST search against sequences stored in various online databases at NCBI and UniProt with results returned directly into Geneious Pro.
Custom BLAST search – Set up a local database with all your sequence data and BLAST it locally.
Smarter Searching
Automated searching – Automate hourly, daily, weekly or monthly searches for any data type. Have the results delivered to your local folder like unread E-mail in your inbox every night while you sleep
Automated Smart searching – Smart Agents™ sort through and prioritize the unread documents that match your search query based on a training dataset that learns what is relevant to you, so you only ever read those articles that are most relevant to you.
