Geneious Basic includes a free 14-day trial of the Geneious Pro features.
After your trial, Pro features will be disabled. You will then need to purchase a license to unlock Pro features. Alternatively, you are welcome to continue using Geneious Basic for academic purposes – Compare Pro and Basic. Commercial users are entitled to download and use Geneious Basic, including the free Geneious Pro trial, for evaluation purposes only.
Already purchased a license? Download Geneious Basic below and enter your license information in to the program to unlock Geneious Pro.
Beta Version
A beta version of Geneious may be made available before the official release for the purposes of testing. Before you install a beta version it is recommended you backup your data by using File -> Export -> All Local Documents.

If you already have the Java 5 or later runtime environment installed on your computer you can download one of the following packages which don't include the JRE:

Running Geneious in 64 bit
If you are running 64 bit Windows, the following packages will allow you to utilize all of your computer's memory:

The latest Java update from Apple has unfortunately disabled 64-bit support for Geneious. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Requirements
Java 5 or Java 6
Windows 2000/XP/Vista or Mac OS X 10.4/10.5 or Unix/Linux
Installation Instructions
Windows: Download the windows installer from above, run it and then follow the on screen instructions.
Mac OS X: Download the Macintosh dmg file, double-click it to mount the disk image then drag Geneious to your Applications folder or other desired location. (Note: you may need run Software Update to install the latest Java – or download it using the link below.)
Linux: Download the .sh install script above and run it using the command:
# sh Geneious_unix_4_6_5_with_jre.sh
Upgrade Instructions
To upgrade from a previous version of Geneious, download the installer for your operating system then install the new version to the same location that Geneious was previously installed.
Your existing data will automatically be upgraded to the new data format and loaded in to Geneious.
