Green Button is a new plugin that builds the power of a Supercomputer into Geneious. It allows you to complete intensive analyses in a fraction of the time it would normally take you – and it's just as easy as running the analyses on your desktop computer.

How does it work?

Green Button allows you to run your analyses at the the New Zealand Supercomputing Centre which was used to render Lord of the Rings and King Kong! Geneious sends everything needed to run the job over the internet then we can send you an SMS message or email when your results are ready.

How much does it cost?

Green Button uses a pre-pay system and charges US 1¢ per CPU per minute. You are only charged when you choose to add funds to your account.

Instructions:

  1. Download Geneious 4.0 or later
  1. Install the Green Button plugin: Tools -> Plugins... in Geneious
  1. Install the latest MrBayes plugin: Tools -> Plugins...
  1. Create an account on the Green Button website
  1. Run MrBayes in Geneious and select "On a super-computing service: Green Button"

To check the status of your job and download the results, click on "Green Button" in the Sources panel on the right of the Geneious window.
