I would like to start using the server database feature, but, before I do, our IT department wants some information. Can you give me some sense of the resource usage of the Geneious database (we are using Oracle)? Also, how much storage space is required for the initial setup and per document? How about the per-user load? Will it only be generated when a user accesses documents from the server, or will it happen anytime someone opens or runs Geneious?

Thanks!

Storage requirements are heavily dependent on what your users do. It is very similar to the local database storage requirements. So if you already have users using Geneious Pro, then you can look at the size of their data directory to get an idea on their storage requirements.

A majority of the server load will be generated when users actually access documents and folders. However there is a small constant load as Geneious polls for changes to the database structure often.
