Question about Geneious: Looking for my files to back up

I'm looking for my Geneious files on my hard drive in order to back them up. I don't know what they will look like. I went to Tools--> Preferences --> Data storage location - but when I went into that folder I didn't see anything that looked like my data.
I had a different computer die recently and I'm afraid that I had not backed up the Geneious files that were on there, so I'm trying not to make the same mistake with a new work computer.

As I'm already talking to Yvette I'll just add this for others who come across this thread.

Don't go looking for your files inside the Geneious 5.0 Data folder - if you want to backup the folder use a program like 7zip if you're on Windows, or tar on Linux and Mac to compress the entire folder into an archive which can be moved to a new machine and then uncompress at the destination.

Alternatively, you can use File->Export->Selected Documents or All Local Documents or Export Folders to save part of your database to a .geneious file which can be recovered.
