Geneious Biocode LIMS
The Geneious Biocode LIMS was developed as part of the Moorea Biocode Project. All of the software, plugins, support and other information can be found on the Biocode Wiki.
LIMS – Laboratory Information Management System
- Workflows – Link together reactions run on the same sample with your workflow documents.
- Searching – Search data in the field and laboratory database intelligently.
- Collating Workflows – Workflows can be combined into summary views for project managers and troubleshooters.>
- Printing – All views of the LIMS data are fully printable for reporting purposes
- Export – The Biocode plugin supports exporting plates and summary views to excel, as well as a selection of other formats.
Assembly
- Assembly Workflow – The assembly tools inside Geneious Pro provide a single platform for the barcoding workflow.
- Importing Trace Data – Import chromatogram traces and link them to well in plates automatically.
- Binning – Group your traces/contigs based on overall quality to speed up the assembly workflow, and quickly identify problem sequences.
- Trimming – Trim low quality data and primers from the ends of your sequences.
- Mark as Pass/Fail – Mark sequences as having passed or failed in the LIMS .
- Assembly – Assembling the prepared reads into contigs.
Analysis
- Viewing and Editing Contigs – Visualization and editing of sequences and contigs is easy as part of Geneious Pro.
- Alignment Of Consensus Sequences – Directly compare your contigs by aligning their consensus sequences.
- Verify Taxonomy And Loci – Use an automated BLAST to check the taxonomy of your sequences in bulk.
Submission
- Preparing your documents – Annotate and check your annotated sequences in Geneious Pro before submission.
- Genbank Submission – Submit your sequences in bulk to an database at Genbank.
- Mark as Submitted – Mark your sequences as being submitted in the LIMS for tracking and reporting.
